This will be a monthly feature. This orientation chat is a great way for members to learn their way around FORCE, connect with other new members and learn about our many programs.
Our next moderated Young Pre-vivor Chat will be announced soon.
Newcomers are welcome! Please join us to share experiences and support, ask questions, or just to visit and get to know other people facing a high risk of breast and ovarian cancer.
We are pleased to offer special events in our Chat-room. Please visit our Chat Room Special Events Page for a complete list of our upcoming chat-room events.
We are excited to announce a series of online realtime chats with Rebekah Hamilton, PhD, RN, specifically for issues faced by young women (ages 18-39) who are BRCA-positive or at risk for hereditary breast or ovarian cancer (more...)
If you're new to chats or to this subject area, you may see some unfamiliar abbreviations or terms. In some cases, these will be the same sort of thing used in chats elsewhere on the Internet -- for example, OTOH means "on the other hand" and LOL means "laughing out loud." You can find lists of these terms at Learn the Net and other websites.
Sometimes we use our own shorthand for terms related to our particular concerns. For instance, we often write "bc" for breast cancer and "ovca" for ovarian cancer. (Okay, so we're not consistent!) We've created a glossary of these terms to get you started.
